slum, TSIP town of SHODH.

The tree plantation programme was arranged at several CTCs falling
under the field area of Sulabh International Academy as sector – 5B,
sec 6, sec 8 and other places in Noida. After reaching at sector-5B
CTC the visiting team found it gathered by so many local women, men
& children residing around that CTC. There were five trees ready for
plantation, among which two were planted by Er.
K.P.Singh, GM, UPJN, Gzb. Thereafter a discussion
regarding the status of CTC was held with care taker Mr. Raj Kr.
Yadav. Mr. Yadav informed about a good number
of local people using the CTC (around
500) and he had a good earning from there. Inside the
CTC, there were six seats for men and four for women,
it was neat and clean and the water storage system and electricity
supply were working. While moving towards the next venue Er. Garg
got a glimpse of garbage lying outside the boundary wall of the CTC
for which he instructed the care taker to remove and make the
necessary arrangements so that it doesn’t get collected there.
Due to their busy schedule G.M. GZB and Er. Maharaj Singh departed
back and Er. B.K.Garg with SFA team moved towards TSIP sector 16
slum. Shodh team was conducting the art
competition there. As Er. Garg with SFA team reached the spot
children started showing their drawings. Er. Garg remarked over the
pictures and thereafter a ply started, in the play children
beautifully depicted the reasons of pollution in Yamuna and the
attitude of general public towards it. After the show was over there
were some discussions held between the visiting team and Shodh team
members. Garg ji observed that the waste segregation had started but
the community has not owned the programme yet. As Shodh has worked
very hard but there are some more steps that need to be taken as
formation of street level committee. Since the sweeper was on leave
for the last few days hence the venue of the programme and the
streets were lying full of garbage. They were also advised to create
some model which could be replicated in whole community as they had
got less time to complete all task. At last Shodh team showed the
place where they were planning for the compost pit. The Abhas team
members Mohd. Aleem Khan and Junaid Mir za were also present on the
occasion. Since there were holidays in the
schools they were contacting children in the community.
