Visit in Partner NGOs for data collection and rapport
building : visits were made by SFA team members to
partner NGO’s project offices wherein discussions were
carried out with chief functionaries and Local team members
over their respective themes. An expectation mapping was also
undertaken for the purpose of firming up of SFA activities.
The checklist developed by SFA proved to be an excellent tool
to carry out discussions. The major points of discussions
included, introduction both of SFA as well as the local NGO,
sharing of purpose of the data collection, collecting base
line about the respective themes, achievements and hurdles
faced. The relationship with other stakeholders was also shared
to understand the current status. The NGOs were readily sharing
the works undertaken and putting forth their demands to SFA.

Participation in Annual Appraisal of Partner NGOs
: as mentioned earlier, SFA’s one of the important
functions includes monitoring and evaluation support to NGOs.
It has been almost one year of hard work put in by NGOs in
their respective themes and time had come wherein annual evaluation
were to be undertaken so as to strengthen the NGOs for future
challenges. For this purpose UPJN in close coordination with
PMC, has formulated a self- appraisal format for all themes.
The NGOs were required to fill up the format and send the
same with all documents etc. the format was appreciated by
all stakeholders. The SFA undertook the responsibility to
translate the format for all themes in Hindi. Another step
was review by town level review committee meetings comprising
of representative from different departments concerned with
the themes undertaken in the project. The NGOs were asked
to make a presentation of the achievements and activities
for the entire year, based on which queries were made by the
participating stakeholders, who then provided marks to each
organization. SFA participated actively in all these meetings
without exercising the voting rights. This was an excellent
opportunity to understand the works and activities undertaken
by each organization in every town. This also served as the
rapport building platform for SFA with all NGOs and other
stakeholders etc. |
